THE ACCIDENTAL HERO IN THE RANSOMWARE ATTACK: MALWARETECH.. 22 years old and saves the world.....

....this time.

He has a warning: It will happen again..

This from the UK GUARDIAN:

The researcher, who identified himself only as MalwareTech, is a 22-year-old from south-west England who lives with his parents and works for Kryptos logic, an LA-based threat intelligence company.
“I was out having lunch with a friend and got back about 3pm and saw an influx of news articles about the NHS and various UK organisations being hit,” he told the Guardian. “I had a bit of a look into that and then I found a sample of the malware behind it, and saw that it was connecting out to a specific domain, which was not registered. So I picked it up not knowing what it did at the time.”
The kill switch was hardcoded into the malware in case the creator wanted to stop it spreading. This involved a very long nonsensical domain name that the malware makes a request to – just as if it was looking up any website – and if the request comes back and shows that the domain is live, the kill switch takes effect and the malware stops spreading. The domain cost $10.69 and was immediately registering thousands of connections every second.

One very interesting piece of information regarding WANNACRY: THE NEW YORK TIMES reports:

The connection to the N.S.A. was particularly chilling. Starting last summer, a group calling itself the “Shadow Brokers” began to post software tools that came from the United States government’s stockpile of hacking weapons.
The attacks on Friday appeared to be the first time a cyberweapon developed by the N.S.A., funded by American taxpayers and stolen by an adversary had been unleashed by cybercriminals against patients, hospitals, businesses, governments and ordinary citizens.
Something similar occurred with remnants of the “Stuxnet” worm that the United States and Israel used against Iran’s nuclear program nearly seven years ago. Elements of those tools frequently appear in other, less ambitious attacks.
The United States has never confirmed that the tools posted by the Shadow Brokers belonged to the N.S.A. or other intelligence agencies, but former intelligence officials have said that the tools appeared to come from the N.S.A.’s “Tailored Access Operations” unit, which infiltrates foreign computer networks. (The unit has since been renamed.)

THE PATHWAY TO HEAVEN

a pathway to heaven photos comforts a grieving family after death.

Hannah Simmons, 23, her baby daughter A’lannah, and friend Lauren Buteau, 28, all of Gainesville, Georgia, were killed in a wreck on April 25 when Simmons lost control of her Subaru Legacy and hit another vehicle.

The crash caused a backup on Ga. Route 347, stranding another driver, Anisa Gannon, on her way to work.
Since she was going to be late, Gannon snapped a photo as proof she’d been stuck in a jam, Gannon’s aunt, Tara Noble, told TODAY.
Later, when Noble took a closer look at the picture, she saw something more than just a photo of emergency crews at work.
The image appeared to show a beam of light ascending from the road to the sky. Within that beam, there seemed to be two small orbs.
“Oh, my gosh. It’s a pathway to heaven,” she recalled saying.

Though logic would attribute the light to a windshield glare or lens flare, Noble said that’s not the point.

We all have the notion potentially to just pooh pooh this story with the light from the windshield theory.. That is logical… But the paranormal is illogical until it happens to you.

In such a horrid moment, if this image brings peace and tranquility to a grieving family, let them have that. And stop just trying to tell them how wrong they are.

Nobody likes a Debbie Downer. Or a Bill Nye

THE ORIGIN OF CREEPY FTP

THIS HAPPENED:

A Massive Ransomware 'Explosion' Is Hitting Targets All Over the World

And with that, an idea was born.

My name is Bryan, and I have had countless websites since the age of 18.. maybe you heard of the HORROR REPORT.. if not, that is me. I am currently debating if I kill it or leave it be..

Until that time comes, a new idea came to mind with this ransomware attack that struck the entire globe..

“WanaCrypt0r 2.0 ransomware (the new WCry/WannaCry) is spreading like hell,” the researchers behind the MalwareHunterTeam Twitter account tweeted on Friday morning. WannaCry acts like a typical piece of ransomware, locking down computers and demanding bitcoin in exchange for decrypting the files.
But the speed at which WanaCrypt0r has spread is alarming. In a few hours, the malware had already infected victims in 11 countries, including Russia, Turkey, Germany, Vietnam, and the Philippines, according to MalwareHunterTeam.

A new and amazing world of the net.. where videos make us laugh and cry, but a darker internet pervades.. where old and young alike are duped by fake news .. where now ransomware has over taken the typical 'virus' ...
And yet where truth and light is prevalent and you can find things you sought your entire life. Information at your fingertips..
But the more you  search and the deeper you delve the stranger and creepier it gets...
The net is scary.
The faces behind the screens you meet and greet may be the creepiest of all.

Welcome to your creepy FTP world.
